Central Gwinnett Drivers Education

Dear Parents and Students,

Yes, it's true! Drivers Education is being offered year around. Students your first mission is to obtain your Driving Permit from the department of driving services be sure to study the manual for several days prior to taking the test. Also, be sure to pick up the Parent/Teen Driving log, it is very important that you obtain 40 hours or more driving experience before taking your road test. The most important part of your driver's education experience is completing your 6 hours with a certified driving instructor. Most insurance companies offer discounts on insurance premiums for completing 30 hours classroom & 6 hours on the road!

To complete Drivers Ed, you must complete 30 hours of classroom instruction. We do not offer the classroom instruction through CGHS, but there are many options for you. The DDS website has a list of certified virtual schools:  However, while completing the  thirty hours you can also register anytime for your 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction costing $285. Students will need to come by the attendance office with a parent or guardian between 8:00am - 3:00pm, Monday-Thursday to register.
